Deacon

Deacon David

Deacon David is a Permanent Deacon and is based at St. Luke’s. Deacons share in the pastoral ministry of the Church and in leading God’s people in worship. They preach the word and bring the needs of the world before the Church in intercession. They accompany those searching for faith and bring them to baptism. They assist in administering the sacraments; they distribute communion and minister to the sick and housebound.

Graham is our Lay Minister here at St. Luke’s. Mark Richards

Mark is the Church Warden at St. John’s. Churchwardens are the bishop’s lay officers in a parish. It is a volunteer role, and Churchwardens are vital to the health and wellbeing of our church communities. Together with the parish priest, Mark is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of St. John’s. His role is very varied, but generally involves matters to do with church life, governance, buildings and worship.

It is a volunteer role, and Churchwardens are vital to the health and wellbeing of our church communities. His role is very varied, but generally involves matters to do with church life, governance, buildings and worship.

Gill is the Treasurer at St. John’s. Her role is to Monitor the church’s finances throughout the year and alert the PCC if any difficulties are likely. She works closely with the PCC and Vicar to meet all its financial obligations, especially the Common Fund, clergy expenses and insuring the church buildings against fire, theft and public liability. Gill is your first port of call if you’d like to donate money to the parish or if we owe you money!
